Coolpalmer is based in Penshurst, located in the southern suburbs of Sydney in Australia. Sydney is well known for  hosting the Year 2000 Olympic Games.

Coolpalmer software started with an idea to produce games and other useful software for the Palm(tm) computing platform. At present only one game has been released but several others are being worked on. The company is run solely by me and unfortunately I have a day job. But with your support and a little time I hope to produce many more high quality games.

The Coolpalmer web site will also be further developed including high score pages and links to the best palm sites around the world. If you are a developer you may soon be able to display your software on the Coolpalmer web site.

The Cardies is a video poker game based on the poker machines you find in many casinos, clubs and hotels. You start off with a set amount of credits which you use to play. You are then given the option of 5 different bet values to choose from. The allowed bets are determined automatically by the amount of credits you have up to a maximum bet of 100 credits. After betting you will be dealt 5 cards. The Cardies is a game of poker so you hold the cards you want and choose deal to redraw the remaining cards. If you get a poker hand you win. The Cardies payout amounts are listed on the right side of this page.
You have the added help of two jokers in each deck. A joker substitutes for any card. The Cardies also has sound and records game statistics which can be viewed at any time during the game. When viewing statistics you can see the high score, number of games and the number of times each trick was won.
New in version 2.0 is colour and even more statistics are now recorded. You can find these by clicking on the menu.

If you win you can gamble that winning amount by selecting red/black or suit gamble. Choose red or black to guess what the color of the next card will be to win. Choose one of the pictures of the suits (diamond, spade, club or heart) which are displayed above the amount of credits. If you select the Heart then the next card dealt must be a Heart to win. You can gamble up to a maximum of 5 times.

There are also three hidden levels which don't do anything yet but are something for you to try to find. The levels are A, B and C and you will be told when you get them. The levels will actually change game play in future versions of the Cardies.

The Cardies is a game which I originally wrote more than ten years ago for the PC. I continued to revise it until 1993 when I experienced a major computer crash and lost everything. When this happened I just sort of gave up programming the game. In January 2000 the Cardies for the Palm(tm) platform was written and released. Since then customers who have purchased have been upgrading to the new versions for free. Please support my work by registering.

Please play the game for as long as you like and if you like the game then why not purchase it. You will be supporting a worthy cause and should find the game useful for killing time if required. And remember, it's not really money you are losing, so go crazy, gamble 5 times or as many times as you can. My high score is listed as 2445435 and has been made purely by gambling. I still choose to play the Cardies when I need to kill time.
